The rancid distribution includes a multi-platform (cisco, juniper, etc) LG that can use methods other than rsh to speak to the LG router (based on the *login tools that rancid uses)
It's based on Ed Kern's nitrous LG source; and is available at http://www.shrubbery.net/rancid/
