We use 12.1(11b)E4 and similar versions on Catalyst 6500/7600 OSRs.
Our other routers (7200/7500) run various flavors of 12.0(>=15)ST?.
The IOS itself works nicely as far as I can see. The issues we do
have all seem to be related to the 6500/7600 hardware, which is quite
a different beast from 7x00 or GSRs. The most notable difference
between 12.0S and 12.1E is the new syntax for multiprotocol BGP
("address-family ...") which is a bit more general.

Protocols in use: BGP (including MBGP), OSPF, PIM-SM, MSDP.

Hope this helps,
