Hi Everyone,

I'd recommend the Metrodata E3 DSU's, but the I work for them!

Hope this info helps. We manufacture 2 E3 G.703/HSSI Converters - DC3445 and
FM4900. There's a few different types of G.703 HSSI Converter depending
exactly what you need.

1. low-cost plug and play converters [no management]
- basic electrical interface converters like the DC3445 that we make here -
http://www.metrodata.co.uk/products/datasheets/dc3445_E3_hssi_converter.htm
This supports E3 and DS3 rates.

2. manageable interface converters
- slightly more advanced E3 Converters that are capable of Line Monitoring &
SNMP Monitoring such as the FM4900 which is here -
http://www.metrodata.co.uk/products/datasheets/fm4900_E3_hssi_converter.htm

3. CSU/DSU that are much more advanced and can analyse traffic type, peak
usage times, etc.

I know that you are looking for E3 Converters, but it is worth mentioning
that with DS-3 G.703/HSSI Converters you also get framed and unframed
products. Also you can get E2 converters as well.

Vendors other than us include: Larscom, Quick Eagle, RAD, ADC Kentrox [just
to be helpful and not blatantly promote my product and how wonderful it is]
;-)

We developed the first G.703/HSSI Converter for Intelsat to test the first
Cisco HSSI Interface on the 4000 Series Router in 1993. We are also
developing a POS/HSSI Converter for connecting HSSI Satellite Modems to
Juniper POS PIC [with the intention to add the ability to connect Cisco HSSI
to Juniper POS].

Best Regards
