[nsp] Load Balancing IS-IS and IP ?

We are looking at an unusual situation where we need to load balance 8 2Mb
links
running IS-IS (for clns yuck) and also IP traffic over them. I have always
had a feeling
that there is a limit for IP of 6 parrell paths ?

Does anyone have any ideas :
1. Multilink PPP bundles, anyone tried this with 8 links, what box would I
need ?
2.If we were running just IP and used CEF would this work anyone have real
experience of this ?

The traffic patterns we expect to see means we really need per packet
balancing.
