Hi, Hank.

When the DNS translations first became available, Danielle Diebler and a
number of other folks ... then at Digex and Verio (the alternative
provider) ... now all gone, set this up in time for a NANOG. Essentially,
they hosted a series of Quake servers from an unused Digex AS ... peered
with Digex and Verio. During NANOG, they flapped the T1s connecting the
boxes from the different providers without any impact on the users.

My recollections ... it made the brain hurt to get it all up and running
... though it was a neat trick. But, there were a number of non NAT-able
applications that limited the overall interest in the project.
