Ensure you don't have mem-dumb files or something clogging up you nvram. can
you copy the start-up to the running?

copy start runn

        You seem to be missing the fact that when "sh run" is issued
nothing is displayed.

        I would recommend doing this:

        clear ip route *

        That should sufficently defragment the memory that
you can issue "sh run" and "wr" or whatever commands you use
to save your config.
