Having some involvement in past lives about how many of these tests are
done I would add that you're just kidding yourself if you think one test
is really more or less biased than the other. People read way too much
into these tests and, for some very odd reason, always seem to think
there's some big conspiracy behind how the tests are conducted or who
created the testplan. Each vendor will try to influence a test plan to
point out perceived or potentially real weaknesses in their competitors
products. It's called "technical marketing". Like it or not it has
proven value to the vendor.

But I think it's safe to say that we all learn much more about a given
product by talking with each other about our successful or painful
deployments and why we chose a specific vendor. At the end of the day I
think most of us can weed out the "religious bigots" and figure out what
box is probably best for our own network. In some cases that will be
cisco and in some case that will certainly be juniper.

My only suggestion is to try to spend more time focusing on the latter
rather than the former.

Thanks,

Chris
