On the fiber make sure you have the transmit and receive correct:

router: 6500
RED (TX) -> (RX) BLUE
BLUE (RX) -> (TX) RED

This should bring the link up. Gig is full duplex, you can not set it to
half.

Subject: [nsp] routed interface on 6509

Hi,
I have successfully moved from hrybrid to native IOS
on
our 6509/sup2/msfc2. I am currently running
12.1(8a)E3.
Now im setting up my uplink to the rest of the
network. I will connect to a 7206vxr via GigE.

Assigned a /30 on both interfaces. My config on the
gigE interface of the 6509 is just the ip address.
Same case for the gigE of 7200 except for "no
negotiation auto".
7200 gigE shows GigE up line protocol up but 6509 is
GigE up line protocol down.
They are connected with a tested and
known-to-be-working fiber optic patch cable.

Is this correct?
