I haven't worked on FDDI in a couple of years. But are you dual hommed into
a two chassis backbone or do you create the ring through each device.

It Sounds like you are dual hommed because usually the B side is the
primary which appears to have failed and you are now running through A your
backup path.

So if that is the case, either cabling or interface, 9 times out 10 it is
cable failure or transceiver.

Hope that helps, I'm kinda rusty on FDDI.
