If I do a conf net the router crashes immediately. If I do a wr net I
cannot keep revision control on the config files. And, as far as I know,
the copy tftp sta and copy tftp run are just the new (11.2 and above)
replacements for conf net.

Yes, I know, but I can't seem to do it any other way. I use abbreviated
access-list files which append just fine to the running config, but when I
do the whole shebang, it crashes.

Cisco's response, by the way, was the stac-trace was "inconclusive"
