Many of you have requested a variety of methods for obtaining a list of the bogon prefixes. I have added several additional methods of tracking the bogon prefixes, and I'm also happy to add that two folks have volunteered to be part of the effort. Thanks to Dave Deitrich (bigdave@cymru.com) and Steve Gill (gillsr@cymru.com) for the assistance! You can now track the bogons through HTTP, e-mail (here and elsewhere), DNS, RADb, and BGP. Feel free to use some or all of these options. They are all detailed in the Bogon Reference Page found here: http://www.cymru.com/Bogons/ Thanks to John Payne, Jared Mauch, Boyan Krosnov, Eddy Dreger, Hank Nussbacher, and Rafi Sadowsky for the feedback and ideas! Comments and feedback are always welcome. Folks are free to peer with as many as they like, though we recommend a minimum of two. This note was originally sent on 17 NOV 2003. Due to some list configuration issues, it did not reach this list. While I am sure most of you saw our copious posts in other forums, we want to be certain you've heard the word. I apologize for the list issues and tardy notice. Please note that all referenced templates were updated on 15 NOV 2003. The numerous Team Cymru bogon projects have been updated to reflect the following IANA allocations on November 15, 2003: 83/8 Nov 03 RIPE NCC 84/8 Nov 03 RIPE NCC IANA allocations change over time, so please check regularly to ensure you have the latest filters if you are not using the bogon BGP feed(s). We do announce updates to the bogon projects to the FIRST community, as well as on lists such as NANOG, isp-routing, isp-security, isp-bgp, cisco-nsp, and bogon-announce. We can not stress this point strongly enough - these allocations change. If you do not adjust your filters, you will be unable to access perhaps large portions of the Internet. We do announce updates to the bogon projects to sundry lists, such as the bogon-announce list. We can not stress this point strongly enough - these allocations change. If you do not adjust your filters, you will be unable to access perhaps large portions of the Internet. Worse yet, you may end up blocking access for people who transit through you. Please do not apply any filters or blocks to your network without carefully considering the ramifications of doing so.
