If it is back to back you need to set your clock source on one side?

Subject: [nsp] back to back serial connections

i have always used serial interfaces with frame-relay point to point
connections but just tried the back to back serial connections with
encapsulation hdlc between CISCO 7200 and Cisco 2500. I am getting the link
status as up but the protocol is down. The configs are as follow:

cisco7200:
interface Serial1/2
 ip address 10.70.14.1 255.255.255.252
 ip directed-broadcast
 no ip mroute-cache
 no cdp enable

cisco2500:
interface Serial0
 ip address 10.70.14.2 255.255.255.252
 ip directed-broadcast
 no ip mroute-cache
 no cdp enable

any suggestions regarding anything i am missing will be appreciated...i
tried giving on 7200 interface the dce-terminal-timing-enable command but
got the same result.

thanks,
Aj
