Hello,

We recently upgraded our 6009 to 6.4(5). Since the upgrade, certain
connections on the switch fail
to obtain an IP address, and the domain appears unreachable, as if the port
is in errdisable or
down.

The ports all appear to be error free. show errdisable-timeout provides no
information.
The port shows 'connected'. Syslog shows the port leaving/entering the vlan
when the
person reboots their system.

The only thing that seems to work is for the person to shut down the pc.
Then
we disable the port. Then re-enable the port and have them start up.

The only thing we can find on the Cisco website is a reference to a bug when
connections
exceed 60 meters. I don't believe this is the case here, though, because in
at least 2
of the instances where this happens, the connections were about 50 feet away
from
the switch. There are plenty of IP addresses available so it's not an
allocation problem.

Anyone have any suggestions on any commands that might provide some insight
into
what is going on?

Thanks in advance.

Kim
