i replied to you individually.  it's typically bad etiquette to take my reply

you can find system maximums listed without restriction on the juniper.net
website, but i believe the theoretical limit is 64000 per chassis for an ERX
1440, with 16000 max per Ocx/STMx linecard.

Do you know how many PVC's are configurable per port, per card and per
chassis on the ERX ATM line cards? Particularly the OC3 and OC12? Im
certainly not counting Juniper out of this race.

we tested it as a replacement for the Shasta BSN 5000.  but we decided to go
with the Juniper ERX 1440.

i can't comment on PPPoA or STMs.  we use bridged ethernet configurations up
to
32000 PVCs over various ATM OC3 and OC12 towards our DSL subs, and then gigE
to
our IP core.

Is anybody on the list using the Cisco 10k in a broadband aggregation
environment? I'm interested in any feedback on the box. I am looking to
terminate up to 40000 active PPPoA sessions over 80000 configured PVCs
coming in on either multiple STM1 or STM4 ATM bearers. What is the Cisco
answer to the Redback 10000 and or the SmartEdge400/800?
