You might want to check out Netdisco <http://www.netdisco.org>.  It
is a web-frontended application that provides IP/MAC Addr/SwitchPort
mappings using autodiscovery for the layer 2 topology.  It needs CDP
(where C is Cisco and not Cabletron) to do the autodiscovery.  It's
opensource.
