I owe you an adult beverage for pointing out this command. This is
wonderful! I just wish it were retroactive to my 2600-series routers.

It depends on what version of IOS you are using.
For latest IOS, you can use "show inventory".
If this command doesn't work, you have to check the router model 
specific command.
