Hello,

 

we are using the following on our devices :

 

banner login %

 

 This is $(hostname) on line $(line).

and it worked fine as long as we used local authentication:

 

Connected to brushesw02 (10.151.105.50).

Escape character is '^]'.

 

 This is BRUSHEsw02 on line 1.

 

 

User Access Verification

 

Username:.

 

Now that we have (eventually) installed a tacacs server, when we login it
shows:

 

Connected to brushesw02 (10.151.105.50).

Escape character is '^]'.

 

 This is $(hostname) on line $(line).

Is it a bug (which would be present in various software versions), or am I
doing something wrong?

 

Tacacs config is

 

aaa new-model

aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ enable

aaa accounting exec default stop-only group tacacs+

aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop group tacacs+

tacacs-server host 10.151.1.100 key <removed>

 

IOS is c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA2.bin or c7200-p-mz.122-25.S4.bin.
