[c-nsp] ATM OAM?

Hello,

I have the following scenarios :

 7206VXR

    |

ATM Switch

    |

 SDH link

    |

ATM Switch

    |

 7206VXR

Problem is: when the SDH link goes down, the ATM switch sees it but not the
routers, so OSPF has to time out before the routers realise the link is
down.

Now I understand that there would be a feature called OAM, that would do
some sort of ATM keepalive - which would/might increase failure detection
speed.

How do I configure this on the Cisco gear? Do I need the ATM switches to
"support OAM", or is it transparent to them?

Current ATM interface config is:

interface ATM2/0.816 point-to-point

ip address x.y.240.118 255.255.255.252

 no atm enable-ilmi-trap

 pvc alfonso816 9/816

  cbr 30000

  encapsulation aal5snap

 !

end

Vincent
