Recently there have been a lot of performance questions..

So, I think this link is applicable:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/765/tools/quickreference/

This may open your eyes..

IE 3845 performance is better than a 7200 with and NPE225 and close to
the NPE400..

And I think this will answer the question someone had about IOS
naming....

Good luck,

Jim

Subject: [c-nsp] Cisco 2800 performance at BRAS funcationality

Hello

Currently I'm using Cisco 3640 as BRAS router terminating our ADSL
(PPPoE VPDN) customers. At 40Mbit/s (in+out) and 11kpps - 140 users
connected the CPU usage is 95-100%. I was wondering about replacement
current 3640 to new Cisco 2811. What performance can I expect from 2811
doing same things ? What minimum IOS version is required to terminate
PPPoE DSL customers ?

Thanks,
Robert
