Hi all Experts!

I have the following problem:

We have two switch connected by fiber cable:

WS-C2960G-24TC-L:Gi0/21<<<<< >>>>> Fa1/4:WS-C2924M-XL

                           FIBER

The problem is, that the C2924 Switch sends the following messages in every minute:

Apr 3 08:11:33.112 MET-DST: %LINK-4-ERROR: FastEthernet1/4 is experiencing errors

On the C2960 I cannot change the duplex or the speed settings.

On the C2924 I've changed the duplex settings, but:

- If it's set to duplex auto or duplex full, then %CDP-4-DUPLEX_MISMATCH error on the C2960 Switch

- If it's set to duplex half, then %LINK-4-ERROR on the C2924 Switch

Why the newer Cisco Devices and IOS doesn't support the speed and duplex settings?

Does these errors highly affect the network performance?

Is there any solution for this problem?

Thank you in anticipation!
