I recently got rid of the last VTP client in a cust's
network. It was a 2900XL. The switch went okay with
a short interruption of traffic for whatever reason.

I have seen switches (3500XL) with older IOSes (around 2001) that
showed unexpected behaviour after the switch to transparent.
It stopped trunking some VLANs but not all.
Switching back to Server/Client helped instantly.
Also the usual reboot helped like a charm ;)

Cheers
