EIGRP has no concept of default-information-originate.

as long as the default-metric-for external routes; is explicitly configured (eg. 1000000 10 255 1 1500) within the EIGRP process, redistributing eBGP learned default-route should work.

it is true that to accomplish the same from ebgp to ospf default-information-originate (sans the always keyword) needs to be configured within the OSPF process)

...atleast that is how it works in IOS.
