Well, Cisco shouldn't be mixing control plane numbers on 
that URL because said URL is talking about the forwarding 
plane.

Moreover, Table 1 just says "Cisco ASR 1001 with Integrated 
5G ESP Module & 8GB Memory". It assumes folk already know 
that the only ESP which can swallow 8GB of DRAM is the 
ESP40, which is not supported on the ASR1001.

Why would Cisco assume, of course, that anyone reading that 
page would automatically know that "... 8GB Memory" refers 
to the RP RAM, on a page dedicated to the ESP?
