Amen.

And all networks that need it to be turned-on-by-default are thoroughly
broken and deserve problems.

(And Cisco is chickening out on this - they could just make it *visible*
in the config both for "turned on" and "turned off" for one major release
or so, and then change the default for "nothing has been configured" - so
existing deployments continue to work and new deployments get it *off*)
