[cisco-voip] Phone Load 8.0(3) - One Way Audio

If you press the "?" button twice there are some statistics of the call, are
the packets sent increasing?? (please do it in both phones), anyway it
sounds like a bug to me.. Those number are in monitor mode (or shared line)
could be a bug related with that.

As stipulated below, phones are on the same logical VLAN so no routing is
taking place other then call setup and teardown to the Call Managers.
Additionally, I know that it has nothing to do with the CSS because if this
was the issue the call would not be connected in the first place and users
would hear fast busy.

This problem started specifically with the 8.0(3) phone load. The only
other change that as been made has been the OS2.4sr7 patch, which I find
unlikely to be causing this problem.

Sounds like a classic partition/CSS issue to me. I would check to make sure
that phone A and phone B have each others partitions in their CSS. Sounds to
me like B does and A doesn't. Could also be a routing issue.

Has anyone run into a One Way Audio issue with phone load 8.0(3) on a 7960?
I had piloted the phone load with about 20 phones and didn't hear of any
reported problems. Now after I have pushed the load to around 200+ phones I
have users calling into the helpdesk reporting problems under the following
circumstances. Please note that the calls are internal and on the same LAN
(even logical VLAN).

1) User A calls User B

2) User B can hear User A talking, however User A cannot hear User B.

3) User A hangs up and calls User B again and there are no issues.

I haven't had any issues to date with the older, 8.0(2) (or earlier) phone
loads. I am thinking that I am going to roll everyone back, but I wanted to
see if anyone is having the issue while also warning people of the problem.
