The Switches are 3500XLs... It is an Avaya system, and call managing
will be handled by that and forgive my ignorance, but what is A VGW?
Voice Gateway?
If it is a Voice Gateway, then we're still awaiting that to come in, we
just ordered that last week.. but I was asked to see what would be
needed to get the network ready for IP Phones

What kind of Switch?
Do you already have CM and VGW's setup?

Subject: [cisco-voip] Basic VOIP Setup Needs
Hi all,
I'm wondering what basics are needed for allowing IP Phones
access on a Cisco Switch network... We are looking at implementing
some IP Phones.
I'm assuming that a Dedicated VLAN for the IP Phones, use of
Native VLAN for non-tagged packets and a DHCP server are needed... but
I'm not sure what else is needed.
If anybody has a good source for some basic information on basic
VOIP setup would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Wayne
