That is correct.  An Intercom line occupies 1 dedication button on a
phone.

I understand it requires using a line on a phone, so if your 7941 has a
dn on both lines already you can't use Intercom unless you remove a
line. Can anyone vouch for this?

Can the UCM 6.X Intercom feature be used for paging to the phones?
Where 1 user could send a page to all IP Phones ?
