[cisco-voip] FXS/DID card + PLAR OPX line transfer woes

Sounds like the Mitel doesn't have any disconnect supervision (which is
why you don't use FXS!), and there are settings on the mitel to change
the disconnect supervision method. I've seen this with Valcom 2002-A
plugged into a ATA-186, the supervision disconnect across FXS varies by
product and sometimes configuration.

Subject: [cisco-voip] FXS/DID card + PLAR OPX line transfer woes

I have a major problem with an FXS/DID card. All four
ports were being used for incoming calls. The LEC has
a Mitel switch attached to it and whenever calls come
in, the proper DID line rings. The problem occurs
when the person on the Cisco side (my side) hangs up
first. The line remains seized and hence that port
becomes busied-out. After four occurances of this,
the lines are all busy and the DID lines are unusable.

Cisco is saying it's the Mitel switch's fault. It is
saying that it isn't recognizing the Cisco hangup
properly. The Mitel switch is legacy so they want
$2500/support call. Nobody is willing to eat the
cost.

Cisco sent us a similar case where Mitel techs had to
go into the switch and ignore certain signals from the
FXS/DID card and then calls worked fine.

Currently, I have an automated attendant setup in
place of the DID lines so people can still call in
without innundating the front desk personnel.
However, calls CANNOT be transfered to four PLAR OPX
phone lines so the customer is concerned when those
outside buildings become busy in the later seasons,
they'll have to deal with a lot of workarounds to have
people in the outside buildings communicate.

Any hints or helpful suggestions would be most
appreciated.

Cheers,
Paul
