Scratchy is descriptive of clocking, time slip problems. Can you share
the gateway configuration?

Also it isn't really echo, but as one caller described "scratchy and
shakey".

	Is it a PRI to the PBX?

	If so, do a show controllers T1 and see if you are getting
incremental errors on the T1.

	If echo, play with the db gain and attenuation on the
voice-port...

		It has been a while since I have had to troubleshoot
quality issues and so my skills aren't where they use to be.

		We have had about 12 inches of snow the last two days.
Employees came in today. Callers (PSTN side) began complaining that some
not all calls were very bad on their end (PSTN side). IP Phone users
have perfect call quality on their ends. This system has been in
production for about 5 years with no echo issues and the voice gateway
was replaced this past summer and we have had no issues.

Gateway<-------------->PSTN<--------------->Analog/PBX/Etc.

		Any thoughts on where to start looking for the issue?
Perhaps just an issue with all the snow?
