[cisco-voip] DST Testing

Not that I have the real answer, but I think all that matters is what
time the server thinks it is. If you manually set the clock on the
server, java should fall in line.

So here's a question... Cisco isnt providing an official patch for any
of my versions (like 3.5.2) and I dont plan to upgrade to the latest
before the 11th.
I was going to manually change the clock and turn off auto DST.
I see java updates mentioned below, will I still have to perform the
below steps on unity/ipcc even if I'm manually changing the clock?

Yep.... Same TZudater.......Just running difference command:
"X:\CommServer\cscoserv\Java2SDK\jre\bin\java -jar tzupdater.jar
-u -v"
where "X" is the correct drive-letter for path
"\Commserver\cscoserv" and "u" and "v" are both lower-case letters.

Scott,
Thats the procedure I am going to do on unity as well because
JRE is used for cisco pca and unity inbox, can I use the same file on
IPCCX as well.

Not sure about the field notice but this is what TAC had me do:
Unzip the contents of the patch from the below link to a folder
of your choice. There should now be a file present named "tzupdater.jar"
Open a command-line window and browse to the path where
"tzupdater.jar" is located.
d) Issue the follow from the command-line:
C:/program files/wfaviid/java/current/bin/java -jar
tzupdater.jar -u -v
Done.
I think I stopped the IPCCx services, but I can't remember.

Make sense.
All the Device Pack is..... is the firmware upgrades for the
phones

Re: [cisco-voip] DST Testing
Hello List,
I am also reviewing the patchs and deciding on what to do, I
just wanted to confirm and see what other folks have done.
I am using CM 4.1.3 sr 3b with OS 2000.4.3a sr2 and Unity 4.0.5
win 2000 sp4 VM only and I do have 7970 ipphones.
This is what my plan looks like currently
1. Install OS release 4.3a sr9
2. Install CM patch
3. Install Device Pack
For Unity
1. Install Unity update patch
Is the CM patch installation order correct, Is there anything
else that I need to install or do and what does this mean
NOTE: Any time you apply a Unified CallManager Engineering
Special (ES) or Service Release (SR) that does not have the Daylight
Savings Time (DST) update you must re-apply the Unified CallManager
Update noted in step 3 above.
TIA

OK, I have loaded all the OS'es and patches and think I'm ready
for DST march 11 th.
Can I test this? Can I change the date on CM, IPCCx, Unity, Etc
and see if it works? Or will this cause me issues? Then move it back
to the correct date. Am I going to screw up the DB? I might not be
here on March 11 th / 12th and don't want to have to work remotely.
Thanks
Scott
