But, that requires local admin privileges to install the upgrade and our
users aren't local admins.

Someone mentioned that if you use the same IP for the server, that the
old CAD will tell you it needs to upgrade... but I have never seen it...

Not a citric environment. I like the idea of giving the users admin
rights to the Cisco directory as long as my sys admin agrees.
Otherwise, we can push it out via SMS to install as admin. We did that
with the previous version. Just trying to figure an easier way since it
is already installed and would only have to pull the new version from
the CRS server.

I don't know if you have a citrix environment but you could use that as
an alternative. You don't get all the features, but you would not have
to give them rights on the local machines.

There was some talk about publishing CAD as an MSI that you could give
rights to install... Also, you may want to adjust group policy to give
the users admin rights to the C:\program files\cisco directory...

Having CAD users not be Local Administrator is unsupported by Cisco in
all current versions. It's in the manual. It creates problems such as
failover in a HA cluster won't work properly. It's problems you usually
can't see.
Cisco is working on a future CAD that requires fewer permissions than
root/Administrator! Trust me I complained about the permission issue.

Has anyone upgraded to the new UCCX version yet? How did you handle the
CAD upgrade that goes with it? Our end users are users only, not power
users or local admins. With over 200 machines to update, I wonder a
good way to do it.
Thanks.
