I think you said it "...nothing known has changed..." ;)

I'd try getting a new ATA and putting it's MAC addres into the config. If the same thing happens, it's a config issue. If not, it's an ATA issue.

That's what I would do.

Subject: [cisco-voip] ATA Extended Dialtone Issue?

I have an ATA that has apparently decided to stop working. Fax machine is hooked up to it, and when it picks up and starts dialing digits you hear the dialtone and well the dialtone does not go away. It is unable to place calls now.

I have tried power cycling it. I have tried resetting it via CM. But so far nothing. Since nothing known has changed in CM or the network, I have to wonder if it is simply hardware failure.

  Any ideas or suggestions?
