A 2801 is a Generation 2 router, the "wic-1dsu-t1" is not a gen2 card. You would need the "wic-1dsu-t1-v2" T1 card, or either of the "vwic2-mft-t1" or "vwic2-1mft-t1/e1" cards can be configured for data as well.

  Thanks for the responses!

Second question, is there any way to get a “WIC-1DSU-T1” to work on a Cisco 2801? I could have sworn I’ve used this card in a 2801 in the past, but I get this error at boot:

*Apr 9 11:10:12.207: %CFG-3-CARD_NOT_SUPPORTED: Slot 1: Unrecognized cookie format for card!

  Hello All

I know this is off topic, just looking for a quick yes/no... I need to add a WIC to my Cisco 2801, does anyone know if the slots are hot swappable, or do I need to shut down my router?

  Thanks~
