clarification:

for gateways with many ports (vg224, 248) CM aggregates those under a
single virtual MGCP gateway so you can view the 'gateway' and all
associated ports.

example from my system:
admin:run sql select name from device where name like '%44444%'
name
===============
AN4444444444FFF
AN4444444444400

this is a dummy vg224 gw i added.
the FFF device is the virtual placeholder for the gateway, 400 is port 0
of that gateway.

admin:run sql select * from mgcp
pkid                                 domainname      description
scratch tkproduct fkcallmanagergroup

xml
versionstamp
              specialloadinformation tkdeviceprotocol tkclass
resettoggle tkreset
