I think that should work.

If your old Ex2K was the first and only exchange server, I'd follow the
steps described in the MS Article ID: 307917 (how to remove the first
exchange server computer from the site) and promote the new server to be
the Master within the routing group (Article ID: 239556).

Got a customer that has an Exchange 2000 server, they are retiring
this server and have already moved their user mailboxes to the new
server, without problems.

They want to remove the remaining Unity system mailboxes (Example
Administrator, etc...) to the new server and retire it...

My plan is to move them using the Exchange move mailbox utility, and
then rerun Permissions Wizard and Message Store Integration Wizard to
change the partner mail server and kill the old server...

Will this work?
