[cisco-voip] Does 1760 support 7921 phone?

Hi,

Thanks for your inputs.

I twigged late last night that the IP VOICE image had CME3.3 in it so I
searched for a version of IOS that supports the feature CME 4.0.1 or
above.

It looks like I need something like 12.4(9)T or above to get CME 4.0.1
on it. It still doesn't confirm that the 7921 will run on 4.0.1 though.

There is another gotcha in that the above IOS image needs 128MB RAM and
my 1760 only has 86MB.

A confirmation that the 7921 runs on CME 4.0.x would be good to get
before committing to more memory (if it supports it, apparently it has
to have been manufactured after Nov 2003!).

Cheers

Chris.

Chris,
you not only have to CME files but also have to change the IOS to
12.4.15(T). once you do that your 7921 will definitely work. I have not
made it to work for my self though, but since the CME is feature of IOS
will hopefully it will work.

Has anybody got a 7921 working on a 1760 platform?

If so, what version of CME have you used and did you need to load
specific files for the 7921 (they only seem to come with CME4.1+ which
isn't supposed to be supported on the 1760 - it probably would work but
is EOL)?

The unit has currently got CME3.3 on it but I've loaded 4.0.0.1 into
flash. No matter what I do it doesn't transition it into using 4.0.0.1
(sh telephony-service gives Version 3.3).

IOS is 12.4(19a) IP VOICE.

Cheers

Chris.
