If you matched 12324019999 for example the result would be 9999.  As Pete said it strips what is matched.  You can test the rule by using the ‘test voice translation-rule’ command on the router.

this rule matches "1232401" at the beginning of a phone number, and removes it.

Hi All,

I don't understand what the meaning of this rule is
Rule 1/^1232401/ //

As per document dialing string starts with 1>>>>>>>>replace string NULL, but
really don't understand. If anyone explain that will be great. Thanks

Iqbal
