[cisco-voip] COBRAS tool

I don't believe this is correct. We had no reports of old messages being marked as unread, and our tests showed saved messages restored as saved messages not as new.

Did you read this somewhere? Did you see this behaviour?

One thing to be aware of… All migrated messages will be marked unread on the connections side after import.

Yes. You can choose to migrate messages as well. It's a very good tool.

I am getting ready to do this as well... but from Unity 4.1 to Connections 7

Are the messages themselves ported as well, or will they need migrated seperately?

You are correct, COBRAS will do that. You create a COBRA database file(s) when exporting then point to these when importing.

I want to convert an existing Unity 5 standalone to Unity Connection 7 utilizing the same hardware. I assume COBRAS will allow this – and by that I mean it will dump the old DB to a file that I can later import onto the newly built UConn server? Or do both servers need to be live and able to communicate with each other?

Thanks,
