Windows 2003 requires activation even on VMWare but the UCCX kit comes with
a the product activation key and install discs for Win2k3 Appliance Edition
in addition to the actual UCCX disc. The label says “Win Svr 2003 Teleco
Svr App SW 3.0 1-4 CPU”. The one I installed is “Cisco IP Telephony Server
OS 2003.1.3a”

doesnt Cisco W2K3 OS require Windows activation when installing on vmware?
if so, do you know what kinda of license key it is looking for (volume,
etc.) ?

I think I tried installing it a while back but the MS activation stopped me.
Since then I've gotten my hands on a vmware image that was created via
converter off a MCS but if I can install natively that is good.

thanks.

Justin

UCCX7 installs with no known problems in VMWare. Just select Windows 2003
Server as the virtual machine type and use the included OS discs that come
with it. If you don't have the media kit you can buy it on ebay for $99.
Search 'cisco ccx' and you will see it.

I installed UCM7 on VMWare Workstation 6 and it works great. Red Hat 4
32-bit as the OS type, IDE hard drive, 80GB.

hi all,

i have installed the nfrs version of cucm7 on vmware esx ( 1 cpu, 2GB
Ram, 40GB HDD // red hat enterprise linux 3 32bit). but it is totaly
unstable. when i log into the webinterface and try to activate services i
get only slow connection and often hppt error 500. i did a change on the
vmware to add second cpu or 4gb ram. but there is no performance !!!
