[cisco-voip] CUCM 7.1.3 Sub Failure

I did an in-box upgrade before for customer using hard disk swapping method.
It's too risky to do in-box + UCCX with only 2 days scheduled downtime.

Instead, I decided to waste some extra time to staged using the same
hardware and bring the hard disks over to swap during official downtime and
it works !!!

The version is CUCM 6.1. I suppose it should work for sub also if it works
for publisher.

Similarly, some additional info to share, I staged UCCX on 7845 and it works
on 7835 in the customer server.

Agreed. I have done it plenty of times with CM3x/4x but never with the
linux platform. I suppose it is worth a try.

Here is the link to using DRS to restore a single publisher.

Based on Cisco documentation I have read, it doesn't seem to me that Cisco
supports swapping hard drives at all. Having said that, in older versions
of CCM (version 4.2), I have definitely done this and it worked. Of course,
that is a totally different platform too (windows based).

Hello,

I have to RMA one of my subscribers. I am pretty sure that I have to
re-install when the new one gets here; however, is there a way I can swap
the drives when the new one gets here?

Thanks,

Mike
