Hi,
The implementation of OSPF (maybe only Cisco implementation) forces you to set all to stubrouters if
you are configuring stub-area.
Neighbor routers will not form relation (adjacency) with
each other if they do not agree on this bit in the Hello
packet. That means they will not exchange routes if they haven't
agreed on this.

In the Cisco IP Routing Book, it mentions that "As in any area, all
routers in a stub area must have identical link state database, to
ensure this condition, all stub routers will set a flag in their Hello
packets to zero, as a result, adjacencies will not be established with
any router that is not configured as a stub router. "
Seems that if this flag is unset, then all the routers in a stub area
may have different link state database. I think for the OSPF, the
mechanism to keep all the routers have identical link state database
within one area is same for stub or non-stub area, is that right? If it
is right, it should not be compulsory to config it as stub router. Why
does it force us to set that?
Moreover, Could someone tell me how to ensure that all the routers have
identical link state database?
