Remember that the RSP2 is an R4700-class processor and the RSP4 is
an R5000-class processor. You can't compare MHz on different processor
classes.

(It's the same with PC's and workstations. A 200 MHz 486 is
significantly more powerful than 2x a 100 MHz 386.)

Be careful what numbers you're looking at in the documentation.
Switching mode has everything to do with box performance.
