I'd rather not make recommendations for 12.1T or 12.2 but I would say that
12.2(6a) or whatever the latest image is *should* work for you but who
knows. But since 12.1T goes to 12.2mainline then I would say moving up a
little might help. RP technology is not my strongest but I can probably
help you debug it and stuff if you need it.
