HSSI and V.35 can both be extended considerable distances, with a
speed/distance tradeoff. I'm pretty sure the Cisco has HSSI cables
that are around 15' long, in the 1-4mb/s range you can probably
go further with a HSSI than V.35...

HSSI Interface Cable
The HSSI cable (CAB-HSI1=) connects the PA-H with the external DSU. The HSSI cable is 10 feet (3.05 meters) long. The maximum HSSI cable
length allowed is 50 feet (15.24 meters). Figure 1-4 shows the HSSI cable and the 50-pin connector used at each end of the HSSI cable.
