Hardware support varies by version. Check out:

If you don't have access to CCO, in this case the tool says 12.0(5)S,
12.1(1)E, or 12.1(1) are the minimum versions to support the hardware you
listed.

The Service Provider image is a feature set, which is not the same at a
version. For a detailed explanation of cisco's IOS naming conventions,
check out http://cco.cisco.com/warp/customer/620/1.html.
