The only regex bug I saw in 12.0S release notes was CSCdk69452 (doesn't
show up on bug navigator) about the regex-matching engine going into
infinite loop and reloading the box when you use (_.+)* in a regex. It's
an open caveat in 12.0(13)S. That doesn't really sound like your problem
at all, but something in the regex engine is hosed ... maybe the first
place to look?
