This is entirely not true. Only the 12016 is upgradable to a 12416.

The 12410 and 12406 are new chassis. With the 12410 due to be the same size
as the 12012, and the 12406 due to be smaller then the 12008.

I was told that on both the 12012 -> 12410 and the 12008 -> 12406
in order to get the increased switch power you lose two slots, I found
this hard to believe but it could make sense.

So if you have a 12012 and what a 12410 you buy GSR12410/200-CSC=
and GSR12410/200-SFC= and hey presto you get a 12410, personally I
don't believe this but if it is true then I'm astounded.
