Hello Vinod,

Yes, you can have CEF and Netflow turned on with CAR. Infact, CAR works best
with CEF+Netflow turned on. The performance limitation will be the PPS rate
of the 2610.

Q. What are you planning on doing with CAR? If you trying to use to manage
the upstream connection, then you may want to consider getting the upstream
to rate limit or co-locating your own router on the upstream. Otherwise you
will be paying for the ingress packets coming down the upstream link, then
dropping them if they exceed the limits defined in CAR. Put it simply, you
want to drop, then pay vs pay then drop.

  Dear All,

Once again here I am with some doubts in my mind. On a Cisco 2610 router
connected to an upstream core ISP using an E1 link, Does configuring Netflow
switching on the LAN, & WAN interfaces which are hosting quiet a bit of
access-lists provide any performance benefits.

Since I am using the rate limitting (CAR) on the Ethernet, & Serial
interfaces, I believe I would need CEF to be enabled on these interfaces.
Can I have both CEF, & Netflow switching configured on the same interfaces?
Kindly let me know whether it would be okay, & will both switching
mechanisms provide benefits in terms of performance.

  Kindly advice

  Vinod.
