HSRP works fine with the following timers :
hello 1 sec
holdtime 2 sec
I have seen the standby router take over with a max of
3 ping drops .
With a hello of 1 sec and a holdtime also of 1 sec,
HSRP active and standby router election occurs even
when the active router is not down. This results in
packet losses.
Thus the minimum configurable time that I have seen to
work is :
Hello 1 holdtime 2
