We found the answer elsewhere...

Yes, the 7206 with NPE400 can support 8 DS3 ports. The 7206 can support
600 points total in slots 0, 1, 3, 5 and 600 points total in slots 2, 4,
6. Since, the 2T3 cards require 180 points each card, slots 1, 3, 5 could
have three of the 2T3 cards and slot 2 could have the fourth 2T3
card. This would leave enough "points" to support one GE in slot 4 or 2 FE
in slot 4. The FE on the IO controller could not be used in this
configuration. I hope this answers your question. Also, please see URL
